Caracas, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza denounced on Thursday Brazil's and Colombia's governments for refusing to collaborate in the fight to contain the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

In an online dialogue with former Brazilian foreign ministers Celso Amorim and Aloysio Nunes, the Venezuelan diplomat assured that President Nicolas Maduro sent several official letters to the leaders of those neighboring countries to draw up a joint plan of action to fight against the pandemic and none responded.

Arreaza affirmed that given the growth of Covid-19 infections in Brazil and seeing that the necessary measures are not taken to prevent the spread of the virus, Venezuela raised its concern to the United Nations (UN).

He explained how the Executive tried to establish dialogues with the Ministers of Health of both countries and even with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and it was not possible.

'From Venezuela we ask to establish a bridge of aid (...) we are willing to move in whatever field to establish bilateral relations. We must treat cooperation matters with awareness and responsibility above all ideological differences,' Arreaza pointed out.

He recalled that his country never broke relations with Brazil and is willing to help its neighbors face the crisis beyond differences.
