The Confederation of Education Workers of the Argentine Republic and the National Federation of University Teachers will carry out a strike against the measures of Javier Milei's government.

The members of the organizations will denounce the cuts in the sector, the elimination of the Teacher Incentive Fund and the 15 thousand layoffs carried out in recent days in the public administration. They will also reiterate the need to call for a negotiation that allows wages to be increased so that workers can face high inflation, defend public education, repudiate an anti-protest protocol approved by the Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich, call for the rights to a fair retirement, and condemn the interruption of the sending of funds to the pension funds of the provinces.

Both entities will express their solidarity with state workers, those mainly affected by Milei’s provisions.

According to a statement from the groups, their members will join a march organized by the Workers’ Central to Congress to defend retirees and demand an increase in their salaries.

“We respond to the authoritarianism of the government with the unity of the workers and with the effective solidarity of mobilization and protest,” says a message from the teachers.
