Air defense destroyed nine Ukrainian drones in southwest Russia

The anti-aircraft defense systems shot down nine Ukrainian attack drones during the day over three regions of the southwest of the country, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. 
 
According to the Defense Ministry’s report, which was broadcast on its official Telegram channel on Wednesday, the on-duty air defense units shot down five UAVs over the Belgod region, two in the Kursk region and two over the waters of the Black Sea.

The Ministry of Defense, which described the attacks as terrorist attacks, reported no casualties or material damage from the drone shoot-down, and said it was the smallest in the last 10 days.

Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh, as well as the Crimean peninsula, regularly report missile strikes, drone raids and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek refuge elsewhere.

During the last few months, Ukraine focused its drone attacks on Russian refineries, fuel depots and other oil industry facilities, mainly in the border provinces, but also in more remote areas such as Nizhny Novgorod, Bashkortostan or Tatarstan.
