African Union to participate as observer in elections in Venezuela

The Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union, Bankole Adeoye, expressed that the continental organization hopes to join the international community to participate in the next presidential elections in Venezuela.

“Delighted to meet with Zael Fernández Rivera, chargé d’affaires of Venezuela, to discuss the upcoming elections. The @_AfricanUnion is ready and hopes to actively join the international community to participate in the next presidential elections in Venezuela,” Adeoye revealed on X.

Fernández Rivera, for his part, thanked the commissioner on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, for having accepted the invitation for a delegation from the African Union to participate in the elections in a capacity of Observer Mission.
