Cuba goes for Guinness record salsa-style

Cubans have broken the world record for salsa dancing. More than 900 people danced the Rueda de Casino for 15 consecutive minutes. Everyone from students to housewives took part. It's wasn't just Havana's finest dancers there. People from Mexico, Colombia, Japan, Germany and Romania also flew in for the occasion - and step-by-step, everyone came together. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture.

One participant said it was great the event united people.
"As you have seen there are more than 1,000 people and soon we will change within the round and it's all a smile, it's all rhythm, getting close - the round can be seen as a bridge," he said.

The salsa round dance is a Cuban tradition that often forms spontaneously at parties and celebrations.
