Havana Biennial to change date

Organized by the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Arts Center, it took place in its building premises—previous mansion of the Condes de Peñalver, a building from the 18th century declared World Heritage—galleries and several spaces of the city. The sample gathers the works of several artists under a curatorial criterion that traditionally has focused in Latin American and of the Third World themes.

The National Council of Visual Arts (CNAP as per its initials in Spanish) has decided that the Biennial’s Thirteenth edition, corresponding to 2018 will take place in November, a month that favors the event, that for its own nature has a large program of central and collateral samples, for the improvement of weather conditions in the country in that period and the no coincidence with other international biennials.
