President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with the Cuban special envy and vice President Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz.

The Cuban envoy submitted the written message from Cuban President Raúl Castro to President Rouhani.

President Raul Castro underlined that Havana is to take concrete steps to further bolster and broaden cooperation between Tehran and Havana.

Cultural common grounds between the two revolutionary nations have brought the two nations closer as both sides backed each other at international organizations, President Rouhani said.

President Rouhani emphasized the need to develop economic cooperation with Cuba, saying that it is necessary both sides to take advantage of each other capabilities mainly at economic sector.

After implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) the grounds are well-prepared for expansion of cultural and economic cooperation and both sides should seize the opportunity, President Rouhani said.

The two governments are determined to broaden all-out relations and cooperation requiring practical steps to materialize the goal, President Rouhani said.

The two countries should spare no efforts to broaden mutual, regional and global cooperation, he said.

Iran believes that imposing economic sanctions will be regarded as a wrong and fruitless measure, President Rouhani said adding that in the global economy, there should be sound relations based on international law and regulations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to the countries in the region to make decision on their faith without direct or indirect intervention of aliens, Rouhani said.

Iran is ready to have interaction with the regional and the friendly countries such as Cuba at international organizations and conventions, he said.

It is expected Iran and Cuba as members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to play much active role in broadening cooperation of the NAM member states, Rouhani said.

Cuban envoy and vice president, for his part said Havana calls for expansion of all-out relations with Tehran.

The Cuban government regards Iran's success in nuclear talks with G5+1 and implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as a significant triumph of the Iranian nation, government and independent countries, he said.

The two sides political, cultural and economic relations should further develop to prepare the grounds for much active role of Iranian industrialists in Cuba, he said.

Exchange of experience in various fields will help bring remarkable progress and developments in various fields, he said.

Re-establishment of Havana and Washington after 50 years of resistance of the Cuban nation on its principles urged the US to confess to its mistakes, he said.

Resumption of ties with the US does not mean normalization of relations with Washington as Cuban government and nation know that the US never gives up its enmity and hostility, he said.
