Good Effectiveness of Heberprot P in Cuban Province

The diligent work of specialists in primary health centers has allowed a decline in the number of amputations due to diabetic foot ulcers in Ciego de Avila thanks to Heberprot P. Lianet Rodriguez, national promoter of the Comprehensive Care Program for sick patients, told reporters that Ciego de Avila was among the top five provinces in the use of Heberprot P, only drug in the world for that ailment.

She said that so far this year 421 patients have been treated with the drug, showing a high percentage of effectiveness in Ciego de Avila, which records 19,000 diabetic people.

In Ciego de Avila, there is at least one consultation in all health units, where patients with uncomplicated ulcers receive for free the medication and the assistance of a well trained staff.
