Cuba and Netherlands make Finance Agreements

Cuba and the Netherlands today signed two legal instruments as part of the implementation process of the multilateral agreement signed by the Ad Hoc Group of Creditor Countries in the Paris Club. The documents were signed during a meeting attended by Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas; the Ambassador to Cuba from the Netherlands, Norbertus WM Braakhuis; and the Deputy Head Export Credit Insurance Division and representative of the Ministry of Finance of Netherlands, Gerald Enting.
The first agreement between Cuba and Dutch Bank Investment was signed by the Dutch ambassador, and the second one, between the island and the government of the Netherlands (for commercial loans insured by the Atradius Dutch State Bussines NV) was signed by Gerald Enting.
According to a report by the official news agency, ACN, both sides confirmed that the agreement reached represents an important contribution and an incentive to further develop economic, trade and financial relations between Cuba and the Netherlands.
During the meeting both sides discussed the good state of their bilateral relationship and the possibilities of expanded it and strengthened areas of mutual interest. The agreement places the Netherlands among the top 10 trading partners of Cuba.
