Cuba and the United States will hold tomorrow a business forum with participation of entrepreneurs from both countries to discuss the opportunities offered by the Caribbean nation market. The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba (CCC) is part of the activities taking place in Havana on the occasion of the visit of US President Barack Obama, who arrived Sunday for a three-day stay.

According to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the host country, Rodrigo Malmierca, the forum will be opened by the president of the CCC, Orlando Hernandez, and the administrator of the Small Business Administration of the United States, Maria Contreras.

Conference offered to the media at the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel, where is the pressroom enabled for Obama's visit, the minister said that representatives of cooperatives and non-state sector will attend the meeting together with entrepreneurs from both countries.

During the event several panels by sector will be held, and it is possible that at some point the US president, who on Sunday became the first US president to travel to the island after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959, will appear.

According to Malmierca, more than 20 companies in his country identified commercial interests of imports from the US, while exporting entities will continue to promote goods and services of international prestige that may be attractive to the US market.

In his opinion, this type of dialogue is very useful because conversations are made on the bases of respect, in a professional environment, and this contributes to decisions taking into account the criteria of both parties.
