Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association Already Active This Year

Solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba has as an early expressions this year the celebration of the 57th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution in Ho Chi Minh City and Ninh Binh province. The January 1, 1959, victory was evoked in the southern city during a ceremony organized by the local Friendship Association, whose president, Truong Thi Hien, said that exchange and cooperation will continue to be promoted.

She said that association will coordinate with the Consulate General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City the commemoration of major events in the Caribbean island in 2016 to strengthen friendship between the two peoples.

The association carried out an analysis of the work done in 2015, which included several activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The meeting was attended by Cuban Consul Bernabe Garcia.

Meanwhile, in the city of Ninh Binh, the capital of the homonymous province, about 100 kilometers south of Hanoi, a friendship meeting of was held with the participation of local authorities and representatives of the Cuban diplomatic mission in this country.

The 57th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution was also celebrated by the vice president of the People's Committee of the province, Le Van Dung, who described it as a shining example for the peoples of the third world.

Also in the presence of the secretary of the Party´s provincial committee and member of the Central Committee of that organization, Nguyen Thi Thanh, the speakers evoked some aspects of the history of bilateral elations, achievements and goals by the two countries.
