Maduro Praises Work of Fidel Castro in Defense of Mankind

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro praised the work of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in defense of the just causes of the mankind, reported today the website of the Ministry of Communication and Information. The South American head of state called the Cuban leader 'revolutionary commander of Latin America and the Caribbean.'

The president took the opportunity to give Fidel Castro a hug and applause of the Venezuelan people, given the closeness of his 89th birthday (August 13), during his television program Contacto con Maduro.

"Fidel has written and continues to write great history for centuries," he said.

To send congratulations, Maduro shared with viewers images of the Cuban leader by the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and called them giants and builders of a Latin American reality that this is necessary to defend.

Among the achievements of Cuba and Venezuela he mentioned the realization of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America and the mechanism of Petrocaribe energy cooperation, regional integration initiatives founded on cooperation, equality and solidarity.
