Raul congratulates Cuban Farmers

Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, congratulated the more than 700 delegates on behalf of Raul and highlighted the significant role played by the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, in defense of the Cuban farmers.

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, member of the Political Bureau and First Vice-president of the Council of States and Ministers also attended the congress.

Gerardo Hernandez and Ramon Labañino, two of the Cuban Five participated in the event as well.

Cuban Farmers presented paintings to Fidel and Raul

Cuban farmers and relatives presented Fidel and Raul paintings with their images at the closing ceremony of the 11st Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) held in Havana.

Rafael Santiesteban Pozo, ANAP president, gave the paintings to Jose Ramon Machado Ventura so he could deliver both to the Historical Leader and the Army General and President of the Council of States and Minister.

Rogelio Fundora Ybarra is the author of both paintings, oil on canvas (25 cm in length, 80 cm in width).

Fundora Ybarra, farmer at the Fruit Plantation in Mayabeque, told CAN that both paintings symbolize Cuban farmer’s commitment with Fidel and Raul.
