The Cuban program for adult literacy teaching known as Yes, I Can has already nine million graduates, as confirmed to ACN by First Deputy Education Minister Cira Piñeiro.
The executive also ratified that there are already 30 countries in Africa, Oceania and the Americas where this program has been implemented, adapted to the language or dialect of the community where it's going to be used.
In an exclusive interview, Edel Valdes, a specialist for Cooperation of the Ministry's International Relations Department, said that added to the figure of people already benefited are the 533,000 persons now receiving classes.
The Yes, I Can method was created at the suggestion of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, with the objective of supporting education in developing nations.
