Cuban lawmakers start today their debates of the 4th Ordinary Period of Sessions of the 8th Legislature of the National Assembly of the People's Power (Parliament). The different commissions will gather at the Havana Convention Center to discuss issues including the compliance with the National Economic Plan 2014 and the proposal for the National Economic Plan 2015.

A report on the implementation of the State Budget for this year and the State Budget Bill for 2015 will be presented to the Cuban legislators.

Another issues for discussion will be the state of the implementation of the Foreign Investment Law and the Labor Code.

The members of Parliament will also assess the results of actions of control and audit in the semester, the resolutions of seizure for events related to drugs, corruption or other illegal behavior.

The program of Parliament includes the analysis of the situation of complaints and suggestions made by the electors in assemblies in their neighborhoods.

The members of parliament will also assess the situation in the offices dealing with defense, public order and customs services-related procedures.

The Commission on National Defense will examine the control and supervision of regulations affecting rural life, above all the growth and stability of workforce in the field.

President of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, has called for the 4th Ordinary Period of Sessions of the 8th Legislature of Parliament, to be held on Friday, December 19.
