According to the AZCUBA Group, the Boris Luis Santa Coloma, Primero de Enero, Siboney, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, Enidio Diaz, Majibacoa, Cristino Naranjo and Urbano Noris sugar mills are currently in operation.
These sugar mills are located in Mayabeque, Ciego de Avila, Camagüey, Granma, Las Tunas and Holguin provinces.
Cienfuegos province, about 300 kilometers southeast of Havana, is expected to start operations this week, with three sugar mills operating for this harvest.
According to the results, the 2018/19 harvest concluded with 87% of the sugar production plan met, and 31% growth with respect to the amount achieved in the previous harvest.
