Cuba Called to Work to Solve Energy Situation

President Miguel Díaz-Canel called here today to work for returning to normal in the current energy situation, however, he insisted on not abandoning saving measures to take care of resources.
Díaz-Canel led a work visit to this eastern territory to check the measures taken in the situation caused by the shortage of fuel, on which occasion he highlighted the coherence and intelligence of the Guantanamo people to minimize their effects.
Before national and local authorities, the head of state emphasized that the responsibility for the energy situation in the country dconsequence of U.S. aggressive policy, now more aggravated by the imperial policy of President Donald Trump.
At another time, the Cuban president recognized the work of Guantanamo in the attention to the people, especially in areas related to housing construction and supply of drinking water.
Likewise, Díaz-Canel socialized initiatives carried out in other territories that may be useful in the face of the current energy situation.
Together with the first Cuban vice president, Salvador Valdés, and other national and local authorities, the head of State learned about the work of that territory and its priorities.
In that sense, the president of the Provincial Assembly of the Popular Power in Guantanamo, Emilio Matos, listed the priorities for this stage, headed by the distribution of food, educational activities and health programs.
For his part, the delegate of Agriculture in Guantanamo, Diosnel San Loys, said the vitality of that sector is guaranteed, in particular, tomato and coffee crops.
Since last week, the head of state has been touring Cuban provinces in order to analyze the measures with a view to minimizing the effects with the shortage of fuel.
So far, the president has visited the western provinces of Pinar del Río, Havana, Artemisa and Mayabeque, and is now in eastern Guantanamo.
