Spanish Legislators Interested in New Cuba's Constitution

Legislators from the Provincial Council of Lugo, Spain, learned about the new Cuban Constitution during a meeting with Cuban peers, the website of the Cuban Parliament reported on Thursday.
Representative Yolanda Ferrer, president of the International Relations Commission of the People's Power National Assembly, explained the visitors the main elements that characterize the Cuban political and electoral systems.
In the Capitol Building in Havana, seat of the Cuban Parliament, lawmakers learned that the Constitution approved in December will be submitted to a popular referendum on February 24.
Led by President of the Province of Lugo, Dario Campos Conde, the delegation was interested in the main changes included in the new Law of Laws.
They also commented that some currents in Spain advocate for modifying the current Constitution in Cuba.
As part of their visit to Cuba, the legislators have planned to hold meetings at the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.
According to their agenda, they will visit the Jose Marti Memorial, the Gran Teatro de La Habana and the Museum of the Revolution, among other activities.
The Province of Lugo is the governing and administrative body of the Spanish province of the same name.
