Diaz-Canel Checks on Recovery after Hurricane in Isle of Youth

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel visited areas of the special municipality of Isle of Youth affected earlier this week by Hurricane Michael.

In the western territory, the President accompanied by ministers visited facilities related to food production and the unit which generates all electricity in the Isle of Youth.

Diaz-Canel met with local authorities to discuss the recovery process.

The Head of State has been in recent days in Pinar del Rio and Mayabeque, provinces hit by Hurricane Michael on Monday and Tuesday.

All of the Cuban President's visits were announced on his Twitter, which was activated on October 10 in context of the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the struggles for Cuba's independence.
