Cuba Boosts Economic Ties with Africa

Havana, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is working to boost economic ties with Africa, revealed today the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba, Omar Fernandez.
During the celebration of a business forum held in an emblematic capital hotel between Cuban and Nigerian businessmen, the official stated that it is very important for Cuba to strengthen commercial ties with entities of the African continent.
Currently, Fernandez revealed, transactions with Africa do not exceed 10 percent of the total exchange of our nation's global trade.
Fernandez, likewise, praised the potential of Africa in natural resources and technology, branches that can be exploited in the commercial exchange by Cuba.
A sign of Cuban interest, Fernandez added, was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba and its counterpart in Abuja, capital of Nigeria.
The document, signed during the celebration of the business forum between Cuban and Nigerian businessmen on Thursday, seeks to increase links in trade and investment.
