EcuRed Among Finalists of World Telecoms Competition

The Cuban Collaborative Encyclopedia, EcuRed, is among the finalists chosen for the awards of the World Summit on the Information Society, local media reported today.

According to its founders, this Cuban website emerged from the will to establish and disseminate knowledge, and currently has an off-line version and a mobile application.

EcuRed gathers has more than 160,000 articles, written from all locations of the country and according to its homepage, it has about 36,710 users (601 of which are active), and 242,967 files.

It is considered the most visited Cuban website from abroad, within the .cu domain.
