Cuban Vice-President Welcomes Leader of Polisario Front

The vice president of the Council of State Salvador Valdes welcomed today the member of the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Hamma Salama, visiting the island at the invitation of the Communist Party of Cuba.

According to an official report during the meeting they talked about the excellent state of the historic relations of brotherhood and collaboration between both parties and peoples.

Salama stated that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro was not an exclusive property of his country, but of all peoples, for which he represents a paradigm.

He also pointed out the work of Cuban doctors and teachers in the refugee camps and highlighted the confidence of the Saharawi mothers in Cuba, to the point of sending their children to study in this Caribbean nation.

For his part, Valdés reiterated the Cuban admiration and solidarity for the struggle and resistance that the Polisario Front, which along with its people has been fighting under difficult conditions for more than 40 years.

Valdés also congratulated the visitor on the occasion of the celebration today of the 41st anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and thanked the country for its support in the resolution adopted annually by the African Union against the blockade.
