The city of Torrejón de Ardoz, located in the Madrid metropolitan area, hosted the final preparations for the fifth container of the solidarity aid campaign destined for Cuba's healthcare system.
Medicuba España and Sodepaz informed Prensa Latina today that the shipment consists of over 50 pallets, with the Havana healthcare network as its final destination. Of these, 23 pallets contain medical equipment and 30 contain medical supplies donated by Cartronic Memory. This represents the first shipment of a planned total of 150 pallets, with an estimated value of 130,000 euros.
The cargo was assembled through the contributions of a group of individuals standing in solidarity with Cuba. It is expected that in the coming weeks, three additional containers will be completed, carrying medical supplies, syringes, hypodermic needles, medical equipment, and photovoltaic systems.
Furthermore, it was announced yesterday that the Basque union ELA has decided to donate 20,000 euros to the solar panel campaign organized by the Euskadi-Cuba association. In a statement released by the union, ELA's International Relations Director, Eider Azkunaga, emphasized that they are "with Cuba more than ever," within a context marked by the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States for over 60 years.
