The event was led by the President of the ANPP, Esteban Lazo; Prime Minister Manuel Marrero; and the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales.
On his X account, the Cuban Prime Minister extended congratulations to those who comprise the municipal assemblies of People's Power, highlighting their dedication and commitment to the people.
"We commemorate the 50th anniversary of the constitution of the municipal assemblies of People's Power. Special congratulations to the delegates and workers of these municipal bodies. Thank you for your permanent dedication to your constituents and community," Lazo wrote on X.
The creation of the Local Organs of People's Power on October 31, 1976, marked the institutionalization of the principle that power originates from the people and is exercised from the grassroots level.
