The meeting took place between Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang and Cuban Vice Premier Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, within the framework of the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE).

Both parties highlighted that the consensus reached at the highest level constitutes a guideline and guide to promote the construction of the community with a shared future.

According to diplomatic sources, during his stay in Shanghai and Beijing, Pérez-Oliva will complete a bilateral program with institutions belonging to the economic-commercial and financial areas.

Cuba is participating in this edition with a stand dedicated to the country and another to the biotechnology company BioCubaFarma.

The event brings together more than four thousand foreign companies, the highest figure since its creation, including more than 300 on the list of the world's 500 largest and leaders in their respective sectors.

According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, more than two thousand companies are participating for the first time, while some 200 companies and institutions have attended previous editions of the fair.

The program maintains six major areas dedicated to technology and equipment, consumer goods, agricultural and food products, automobiles and smart mobility, medical devices and pharmaceutical products, as well as trade in services.

Ding Xuexiang attended the opening ceremony, where he delivered a speech defending economic opening and international cooperation as ways to confront the challenges of the world economy.

The Chinese leader noted that, given the difficulties facing economic globalization, it is necessary to expand access to markets, deepen investment cooperation, strengthen innovation, and resolve differences through dialogue and consultation.

This year's edition includes activities to promote exports, investment, and consumption in China, along with business meetings and negotiations to expand opportunities for international cooperation.

Since its launch in 2018, the CIIE has consolidated itself as a platform to facilitate foreign companies' access to the Chinese market and promote commercial cooperation, in line with the country's high-level opening policy.
