Russia denounces Washington for violating Cuba's human rights

The Russian Foreign Ministry has denounced the US blockade against Cuba as an example of human rights violations committed by Washington, the website of this ministry posted on Saturday.
According to its report, the US keeps on seriously violating human rights both in the country and abroad, even through unilateral coercive and illegal measures.
The document adds that the most flagrant example regarding those measures is the economic, financial and commercial blockade that the White House has maintained against Cuba for more than 60 years, despite the 29 resolutions against it approved by the United Nations General Assembly.
The Russian Foreign Ministry notes that through its double-standard policy, the US government is trying to become the global abvocate in the protection of fundamental freedoms, and it goes after alleged violations everywhere but within its own borders.
Even non-governmental organizations loyal to Washington admit that the human rights situation is worsening by the day in the US. The country continues to be overlooked by authorities, the release stressed.
It also warned that racism, antisemitism, islamophobia and other forms of discrimination that affect the population are growing in the US.
According to the report, US citizens of African, Asian and Hispanic descent are constantly discriminated against, especially by the police, as well as in health care and justice.
