Don’t call it a comeback! A new Titanic ship is set to sail again in 2022.

The iconic boat, which sank 100 years ago after colliding with an iceberg is being recreated with an identical build for $500 million. The replica ship could hold approximately 2,400 passengers, 900 crew members and will travel from Dubai to Southampton before making the journey across the Atlantic, the same as the original.

According to CNN, the Titanic II will apparently be outfitted with plenty of life boats – and will have a welded, not riveted hull – plus modern navigation and radar equipment.

Australian businessman and politician Clive Palmer, who is behind the project released a statement saying, “The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York,” Palmer said in a statement last month. “But she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.”

The Titanic II was originally set to hit the water in 2015, but after a dispute with the Chinese government plans were halted until now. The ship will set sail over 100 years after the original. The ticket prices have not yet been revealed, but will surely be pricey. Would you board the new Titanic ship, or is one fatal crash too many?
