Syrian President Holds Meetings with Iranian and Armenian Delegation

Damascus, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) Syrian President Bashar al-Assad held separate meetings today with a political delegation from Iran and the Armenian Orthodox Church, whose representatives dealt with the current situation in the country.

During the meeting with Alaeddin Boroujendi, president of the Iranian Political and Security Commission, the historic and strong relations between the two countries were highlighted, and Al Assad stressed the support of the Persian nation to Syria.

For his part, the senior Iranian official reiterated his support for Syria against the terrorist war and stressed that the future of this nation of the Levant is of great importance for the region.

In the afternoon,president Al Assad received a representation of the Armenian Orthodox Church, headed by Aram I Keskishian, who congratulated the Syrians for the victory obtained in Aleppo.

The cleric also expressed sincere hope to free all Syrian areas of terrorism and restore peace as soon as possible.
