The date follows the closing ceremony of the world's largest sports festival, scheduled for August 21st, which will end more than two weeks of intense competition with the participation of about 11,000 athletes representing 206 countries.
In total, about 39 Brazilian airports, all located in the host cities or within 200 km of them, will be involved in the Olympic competition.
At the Rio de Janeiro airports alone, staff will attend to more than one million athletes, delegates and tourists and about 4,700,000 suitcases.
