Cuban president congratulates athletes attending Parapan American Games in Lima

The president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, congratulated the performance of athletes from the Caribbean nation participating in the 6th Para pan American Games taking place in Lima, Peru.

With five gold medals achieved until Saturday, Cuba was placed in fifth place in the medal chart of the event that opened on August 23 and will run until September 1.

One silver medal and four bronze medals complete the number of prizes obtained so far by the Cubans participating in the Games, where they have especially excelled in athletics, judo and table tennis.

Diaz-Canel also congratulated on Twitter the outstanding Brazilian theologian and friend of the Cuban Revolution, Frei Betto, on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
