LatAm Wins Its Third Medal at Judo World Championship

Latin America conquered today its third medal at the Judo World Championship, Chelyabinsk 2014, Russia, with the Bronze medal of Brazilian Erika Miranda in the 52 kg. Miranda, world subtitle in Rio de Janeiro-2013, beat Cuban Yanet Bermoy, Olympic silver in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, with two penalties in the dispute of the medal.
This was the third medal of Latin America after the silver won by Argentinean Paula Pareto, 48 kg, and the bronze medal of Cuban María Celia Laborde in that same division.
The golden medal in the 52kg went to Kosovar Majlinda Keldendi, defender monarch, who competed representing the International Judo Federation and defeated in the finals Romanian Andreea Chitu by wazari.
Another metal bronze was won by Russian Natalia Kuziutina, who defeated Chinese Yingnan Ma by yuko in the fight for one the the two third places.
In the male lid, 66 kg, the eight Latin American representatives were not that lucky and were left out of the podium and the first seven positions.
