Cuban badminton player Osleni Guerrero will travel to Peru tomorrow to undergo a training base for the Challenge International Tournament, to be hosted by that South American nation.

This contest, from April 20 to 23, will be the next competitive challenge for Guerrero, who won two events at the Giraldilla de la Habana tournament (men´s single and double) last month.

On Peruvian soil, Guerrero will debut against Guatemalan Christopher Martinez, in a competition that will grant 4,000 points for the world ranking to the winners in each of the events.

Guerrero, 176th in the world list, appears as sixth seed of the tourney, in which Brazilian Igor Coelho, 54th of the universal ranking, appears as the first seed.

Precisely Guerrero and Coelho could be rivals in quarterfinals, if they both win their first two matches.

This tournament will serve to the Cuban athlete as training for the Pan-American Championship, based in Havana from April 26 to 30, event that will be attended by the best players on the continent. (ACN)
