Havana, Sep 28 (Prensa Latina) Financiera CIMEX S.A (Fincimex) denied a cable information by Spanish news agency EFE on the presentation of the ''Club Malecon'' prepaid card for the use of Americans, Granma newspaper published today.

The note said the report on the subject appeared from EFE on September 22.

That report referred to some statements made by the President of the U.S. company International Port Corp. (IPC) on the launching, as of October 1, of that card for the use of citizens from that country traveling to Cuba.

This statement does not fit the status of implementation of an agreement reached between Fincimex and IPC, and includes significant inaccuracies on it, the answer says.

The mentioned card would not be issued by a U.S. entity and neither the possible starting date of its use is defined. Once negotiations are completed, the features of this service will be announced at the appropriate time, the statement insists.

Hence, the statement by the IPC president, reported by EFE, does not fit the status of implementation of an agreement reached between Fincimex and the American company, and includes significant inaccuracies on it.
