Venezuelan Leftwing Forces Urged to Maintain Social Commitment

The international coordinator of the Venezuelan Leftwing Alliance Great Patriotic Pole (GPP), Roy Chaderton, urged today to the militants of that Alliance to maintain their social commitment despite the electoral defeat suffered this Sunday.
The politician, former Venezuelan ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), considered the Bolivarian Revolution should overcome the setback in the parliamentary election and build as of now, its victorious return.
Chaderton asserted that the recognition of the results , the forces grouped in the GPP showed their moral superiority and vocation of peace, contrary to what was accustomed by the local right, defeated in 18 of 20 elections since 1999.
Now it is up to us to begin a new stage in the institutional and political life of the republic, but without forgetting the commitment of boosting social justice, he commented.
We have to think in the coming battles to protect the conquests of the Bolivarian Revolution and to keep forward with them, he added.
On the other hand, the diplomat applauded the president of the Republic and top leader of the Socialist United Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás Maduro, for his acceptance of the verdict and congratulation to electors.
Over 19 million 490 thousand Venezuelans were called the eve to elect 167 deputies of the one-chamber National Assembly.
According to the first bulletin of the National Electoral Council (CNE in Spanish) the participation at the polls was of 74.25 percent of voters registered, when 96.03 percent of the data had been counted, the opposition alliance Mesa de la Unidad Democratica had 72 nominal candidate winners and 27 candidates listed.
On the other hand, the PSUV had 24 nominal representatives and 22 listed.
According to the CNE, there are still to be defined winners in 11 districts, the list of the state of Merida and the three indigenous jurisdictions.
