ZAPPING: Otro sol... Another Brazilian Soap Opera

Cubavisión channel will air this Tuesday a new Brazilian soap opera in its prime hour of the evening: Segundo sol (or Nuevo sol, for its title in Spanish), a Globo television production broadcasted between May-November 2018.

The first novelty is the stage. We are used to watching Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo as the main stage, here the story takes place in Salvador de Bahía, one of the most beautiful Brazilian cities, which is recreated with all the vividness of its colors and rhythms.

Created by João Emanuel Carneiro and directed by Dennis Carvalho and Maria de Médicis, the telenovela stars Giovanna Antonelli and Emilio Dantas, and its main villains are Deborah Secco, Adriana Esteves, Giovanna Lancellotti and Vladimir Brichta. In addition, it counts on the performances of Fabrício Boliveira, Fabiula Nascimento and Luisa Arraes in other leading roles.

The opening approach is a typical soap opera conflict: When the plane he should have boarded crashes, and he is left for dead, Beto Falcão, a famous singer, sees how people suddenly glorify him. He then decides to skip town, so no one knows the truth.

From then on, a plot unfolds that takes place in two times: the late nineties of the last century and today.

The soap opera was warmly welcomed in Brazil, with good ratings in viewership studies. This is another great production thought for the main space of Globo's television drama, and that will now accompany the Cubans for several months.
