The 22nd edition of the World Aquatics Championships will be held in the city-state of Singapore from 11 July to 3 August 2025, bringing all six sports represented by World Aquatics to South East Asia.

World Aquatics has announced that the World Aquatics Championships - Singapore 2025 will be held from 11 July to 3 August 2025, following a decision by the World Aquatics Bureau and the Singapore 2025 Organising Committee.

The World Aquatics Championships, the premier international aquatics event, will feature 76 medal events across the six aquatic sports. Held in the heart of Southeast Asia, this momentous event will include competitions in swimming, water polo, diving, artistic swimming, open water swimming and high diving.

The 22nd edition of the event is being organised in close collaboration with Singapore Aquatics and Sport Singapore, a statutory board under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth. More than 2,500 athletes are expected to participate in the World Aquatics Championships, representing the 210 national member federations of World Aquatics.

The majority of the 24 days of competition will be held at venues within the Singapore Sports Hub and Sentosa. Singapore, one of the world's leading aviation, financial and maritime hubs, has hosted numerous high-profile sporting events, including World Cups in five of the six aquatic sports and the 2015 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships.

Singapore also hosted the inaugural Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2010, which included swimming and diving events. "Today marks a milestone for the highly anticipated World Aquatics Championships - Singapore 2025," said World Aquatics President Husain Al-Musallam.

"We couldn't be more excited that Singapore will be hosting our flagship event. Singapore's outstanding track record in organising events, coupled with its world-class facilities and unwavering commitment to aquatics at all levels, is sure to create an unparalleled experience for our athletes," said the Kuwaiti-born president from 2021.

"With this announcement, and following two previous World Aquatics Championships in Asia - Fukuoka in 2023 and Doha in 2024 - the continent's unwavering commitment and exceptional hosting capabilities are on full display, ready to welcome the world's best aquatic athletes," concluded Al-Musallam, who has served as President of the organisation since 2021 and previously as Vice President since 2015.

Mark Chay, president of Singapore Aquatics, expressed his excitement as he announced the competition dates for the upcoming World Aquatics Championships.

"With Singapore's proud heritage in aquatics, our community is thrilled to host the world's best athletes in July and early August 2025. Singapore offers world-class facilities, a proven track record of hosting high quality events and a passion for aquatic sports."

The schedule and exact dates of the individual events for the World Aquatics Championships - Singapore 2025 and the Masters World Championships will be announced at a later date.
