Geneva, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) Cuba denounced today in the voice of its ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Juan Antonio Quintanilla, the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, which he described as a flagrant and systematic violation of human rights.

The diplomat made the denunciation in the continuation of the activities of the 51st session of the Human Rights Council, a forum in which he rejected the siege imposed on the Cuban people by Washington for more than 60 years.

In his intervention in one of the debates, he reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment to the realization and protection of all human rights for all, without political manipulation, selectivity or double standards.

Quintanilla also repudiated on the second day of the session, scheduled to last until October 7, the singling out of States on human rights and politically motivated exercises within the framework of the Council.
