UNESCO’s MIL Cities, beyond technological age

The 10th International Conference on Culture, Communication, Marketing, and Community begins in this capital on Wednesday, offering in two days, an extensive scientific program with presentations on UNESCO's Ciudades MIL concept.

 
This is a new category of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in which the three letters stand for Media Information Literacy, and in our language means “Media Literate Cities.”

The event will feature speakers from several countries who will debate about MIL Cities, their influence in today’s societies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the transformative impact of AI in the multi-sectoral context of the Caribbean.

Cuban ethnologist, researcher, and writer Miguel Barnet, who recently received the 2023 National Heritage Award for his lifetime work, will give a speech entitled “The Neighborhood within MIL Cities.”

The two days event, Wednesday and Thursday, is divided into commissions. It will also dedicate spaces to young people and teenagers, natural cosmetics, houses of culture, sustainability, and other aspects impacting modern societies.
