Twelve Covid-19 patients in Cuba discharged

Havana, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health informed about the medical discharge of 12 Covid-19 patients in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of people recovered from the disease to 4,131 for 84.3% recovery rate.
 
The figures were released at a press conference by Dr. Francisco Duran, National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health.

A total of 73 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Cuba in the last hours, 23 of them Indian construction workers, with the total amounting now to 4,876 since the first cases last March.

The death of a 71-year-old man was also reported, rising the death toll to 109 that makes up for a 2.24% lethality.

Dr. Duran reported that 73 new cases cropped up in the last 24 hours, of them 50 Cubans and 23 construction workers of Indian nationality.

Seven thousand nine hundred thirty nine samples were studied in the different molecular biology laboratories in the country, thus the 508,224 samples have been taken in the country in total, of which 0.96 percent turned out positive.

Of the total contagions registered on Tuesday, 70 were contacts of confirmed cases and three without a specified source of infection.
