Singer-songwriter Tony Avila spread Cuban music, guaracha, son and verses in a warm concert in the Cuban Embassy in Uruguay, where he is preparing new performances on Tuesday.

It was a Cuban-Uruguayan party at which the Cuban singer was accompanied by Uruguayan voices, guitars and percussion, such as singer and composer Pablo Etcheberry.

Avila made ambassadors, representatives of institutions, members of the Cuban medical brigade, Uruguayan friends and Cuban residents in this country dance to his music.

The winner of the CubaDisco 2024 award in the New Song category started the event with songs that made the atmosphere intimate.

There were songs about his family, his country, peace and war, the greatest of absences, and the inequity for the world of the most, gave reasons for reflection.

Pablo Etcheverry paid tribute to the March of Silence, which recalls the Uruguayan missing people every May 20.

Avila and Etcheverry sang to the Moon, a song in time of romance by the Uruguayan performer.

The rest of the night belonged to Tony Avila and his guarachas, which are characterized by double meaning, humor and a social touch.
