Havana, Dec 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban cultural authorities confirmed that popular Cuban singer Farah Maria died on Wednesday in Havana at the age of 76.
The Cuban Music Institute (ICM) mourned artist, known as 'La Gacela de Cuba' (The Gazelle of Cuba), who popularized songs such as 'Con juventud y experiencia' (With youth and experience) and 'El Tiburon'.
'Farah began her career very early and was a symbol of Cuban grace, sensuality and mestizo beauty. She was a remarkable singer who knew how to choose her repertoire and demonstrated her unquestionable elegance and mastery on the stage,' the ICM shared on social networks.
Farah Maria is considered an icon of Cuban songs, especially in the 1970s and 1980s, years in which her presence on the stage was permanent, and where she shared successes with the most recognized artists at the time.
