Russia and Cuba will seek ways to achieve more potential in mutual trade during the 9th Meeting of the Business Committee between both countries.

The meeting and the Cuba-Russia Business Economic Forum are taking place in the context of the 20th session of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic-commercial and scientific-technical collaboration between the two states.

The business communities are expected to come together and exchange in areas of common interests such as transportation logistics; agro-industrial cooperation; innovation, digital transformation; construction and tourism.

The meeting is taking place before the 20th session of the intergovernmental commission, co-chaired, on the Cuban side by deputy Prime Minister and head of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ricardo Cabrisas, and on the other hand, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Vice President of the Government of Russia.

The first Cuba Exhibition in Russia, in which Cuban companies with more export potential participated, took place in Moscow in September 2019, during the 10th Business Economic Forum.

On that occasion, the Cuban Deputy Minister of Health, Marcia Cobas, told Prensa Latina that an agreement was signed with a group of 150 Russian companies. The agreements were related to scientific fields, endocrinology, urology, diabetic foot and gynecology, she said.

The commercial ties between both countries also received a notable boost with the visit to Havana last January of the top leader of the Cuba-Russia Business Council, Boris Titov, who met with the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
