A group of people from Santiago de Cuba, workers, members of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution and the Revolutionary Armed Forces arrived at the Santa Ifigenia necropolis in Santiago de Cuba to honor the memory of the National Hero.

Flowers were also laid at the cemetery on behalf of the Council of State and Ministers and the Cuban people.

The ceremony was attended by members of the CC-PCC, José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz, first secretary of that organization in the province, and Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, governor.
