"-Because there was no doubt about her sexuality, although the trend of the time did something to hide it-" The English society in the 20th century, full of taboos regarding sexuality in general, and homosexuality in particular, imposed limitations on who did not meet the standards of the time.

Virginia Woolf uses the biographical genre to give her point of view, which was transgressive at the time, being an example of English literary modernism from the beginning of the century. "Orlando," a groundbreaking satire, published in 1928, is about a young aristocrat who becomes a woman and overcomes the barriers of both sexes.

Almost a century later, playwright Carlos Díaz, will once again take on the challenge of incorporating a classic of universal literature to the Cuban stage. On the Facebook page of the company "Teatro El Público," his work is being revealed without giving too much details of the singular version of this famous novel; "Soon, there will be princesses skating at Trianon," they announced on that social network prior to its premiere, which the public already has the possibility of enjoying it at the traditional theater of the capital.

Meanwhile, the company's followers can enjoy a contemporary reading of Shakespeare's play “As You Like It”, on the Trianon stage, staging its second season this time. The amusing staging recreates one of the most mature and elaborate comedies of the English playwright, according to the critics' opinion.
