Pope Francis asks journalists to find and tell the truth

Pope Francis on Sunday urged journalists and communicators to 'go and see,' even where no one wants to go, to bear witness to the truth.
In a comment after concluding the Sunday prayer of the Angelus at the Library of the Vatican, the Supreme Pontiff pointed out that today is the day of St. Francis de Sales, the patron saint of writers and journalists.
Pope Francis recalled his message entitled 'Come and see. Communicate by meeting people where and how they are', published on saturday on the occasion of the 55th World Social Communications Day (WSCD), which will be celebrated on May 16, 2021.
In that text, Pope Francis warned that journalism crisis can lead to information built in the media, with no direct contact with reality.
In front of the computer, at news agencies, on social networks, without ever going out into the street, without 'making their best efforts,' without meeting people to search for stories or verify certain situations with their own eyes, he said.
