The quarterfinals and semifinals of the 64th National Baseball Series will return to the originally approved format of a seven-game series, with the first to win four games advancing.

This was announced by the Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation in a note sent to media outlets, which JIT reproduces below.

Given that Cuba will not participate in the Caribbean Series and the date of the Americas Series is yet to be determined, it has been decided to resume the format originally approved for the quarterfinals and semifinals of the 64th National Baseball Series: seven games, first to win four.

Below is the schedule designed for the entire postseason:

Quarterfinals: Begin on the third day after the conclusion of the last recovery game. Series of seven (7) games, first to win (4). Format: Two game days, one travel day, three game days, one travel day, and two game days.

Semifinals: Begin on the third day after the conclusion of the last quarterfinal game. Series of seven (7) games, first to win four (4). Format: Two game days, one travel day, three game days, one travel day, and two game days.

Finals: Begin on the third day after the conclusion of the last semifinal game. Series of seven (7) games, first to win four (4). Format: Two game days, one travel day, three game days, one travel day, and two game days.

If any segment of the playoffs ultimately coincides with an event or the start of the international preparation conceived for the VI World Baseball Classic, the players involved in those series would either not attend or would join later, as applicable.
