Palestinian government denounces Israel’s measure against MEP

The Palestinian government today condemned Israel's decision to deny entry to the occupied territories to the Spanish MEP Manu Pineda.

This action is aimed at preventing Pineda from exercising his function and mandate as president of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Palestine, the Foreign Ministry criticized in a statement.

The purpose is to silence any questioning of the illegal Israeli occupation, the text underlined.

The Foreign Ministry accused the neighboring nation of ‘defaming the voices in favor of justice that bravely speak out against its systemic crimes and serious violations of Palestinian rights’.

Faced with such a situation, he urged the European Parliament and its member states to take a clear stance against the ban on the United Left lawmaker.

Two days ago, Pineda asked the European Parliament to apply ‘reciprocity measures’ against Israeli public officials who want access to that institution.
