Nicaragua receives 800,000 Sinopharm doses from China

Nicaragua on Friday received 800,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses sent by the Chinese government so as to continue its vaccination campaign against Covid-19, according to Nicaragua´s Health Ministry Martha Reyes.
According to Ms. Reyes, the new batch completes one million vaccine doses and syringes donated by China, in order to strengthen the comprehensive strategy to fight the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Nicaragua.
Presidential Advisor for Investments, Trade and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega thanked China´s President Xi Jin Ping for this gesture of brotherhood, fraternity and humanism in favor of the Nicaraguan people´s health.
On Sunday, December 12, Nicaragua received 200,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses, one of the first donations after the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Representatives of Nicaragua and China signed a joint statement on Friday, December 10, on the restitution of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level and mutual recognition, and held meetings related to cooperation, trade and investment.
