Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal confirmed today his long-awaited return to the courts will be tomorrow, Sunday, in the ATP 250 doubles competition based in this city.

His partner will be the now retired 41-year-old compatriot and coach Marc López, with whom he won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

The 37-year-old left-hander, considered among the best tennis players in history, has already recovered from his injury and preferred to start as a pair to get into a competitive rhythm before participating in the individual tournament, which will begin on January 2.

Their debut will be against the Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson at the Pat Rafter Arena, in a competition where the pairs made up of the German favorites Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz and the one formed by the British Lloyd Glasspool and the Dutch Jean-Julien will be present. Rojer, second seeds.
