Havana, July 22 (RHC)-- Members of the 32nd Solidarity Caravan of Pastors for Peace received a warm welcome in Matanzas on Thursday.
The caravan members will remain in the territory until July 24.
Teresa Rubio, delegate of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples in the province, reiterated the honor of welcoming once again American men and women who have always shown their affection for Cuba and do so with courage.
Gail Walker, executive director of the Interfaith Foundation for Community Organization, to which the Pastors for Peace Caravan belongs, said that breaking the blockade is their primary goal.
For many years, she said, the U.S. government has put its foot on the people of the island, who are our family. Still, we know that there is the possibility of ending it with the international community's support.
The late Reverend Lucius, the founder of Pastors for Peace, once said that it was transcendental to come to Cuba to express solidarity and condemn the blockade imposed by the United States.
Love never gives up, something that Gail's father always said, is the motto that accompanies Pastors for Peace, an initiative that this July celebrates its 30th anniversary.
